Who We Are

Schools Data Services Ltd was established in 2008 by the company’s founders, Ed Whittaker, a former teacher and behavior lead, and Andrew Rose, a former database manager and programmer. Their first behaviour management application, IRIS, launched back in 2004 achieved widespread adoption by numerous secondary schools nationwide.

Following increasing pressure from schools for more customisation, in 2010 the company embarked on the development of IRIS Adapt, a product capable of more easily adapting to the diverse and ever-changing needs of its customers. With an extensive track record of collaborating with customers, Schools Data Services Ltd has developed a highly dynamic system that has the ability to address even the most demanding requirements—whilst at the same time maintaining an accessible pricing structure.

Being big enough to cope but small enough to care, our commitment to providing outstanding customer support remains one of our key selling points. When you contact us via email or phone, you will always engage directly with a member of our dedicated team.

IRIS Adapt is a highly configurable data management application developed and owned in its entirety by Schools Data Services Ltd. IRIS Adapt is currently used principally in the education sector. It is also deployed in a number of business, adult social care and public sector environments.

In the education sector, our main clients are specialist provision of all kinds, either SEND (special) schools, AP (alternative provision), PRU (pupil referral units) or other independent providers. Within this sector the main uses of the platform are the logging and analysis of pupil incidents, physical interventions, accidents and pupil safeguarding concerns.
